The interdisciplinary workshop on “Citizen Science and the Wild,” which brought together historians of science, anthropologists, museum professionals, and scientists, convened in London at the Natural History Museum on 15 June 2017. It followed on scholarly conversations that began at MIT in June 2016 at “The Call of the Wild” workshop, which considered the cultural valences of “wildness” from the microbial wildlife that populates cheese to the inaccessible wilds of outer space.
